This notice explains what personal details Padelent collects, why, and what your rights are. It covers our website padelent.com and the Padelent app.
Who we are
Padelent is a trading name of Piers Berrington, a sole trader in the United Kingdom. We are the controller of your personal details. Contact us at info@padelent.com.
What we collect
- Waitlist. If you signed up for updates: your email address, whether you are a player or a coach, and the date.
- Your account. Your name, email address and password. Your password is stored encrypted and we cannot see it.
- Player profile. Your level, playing hand, side, racket, club, how often you play and what you are working on. This is only shown to coaches you book.
- Coach profile. Your photo, intro video, bio, experience, prices and lesson options. This is public on Padelent.
- Lessons. The videos and messages you send and receive in lessons, and messages you send us. These are only shown to the people in that conversation.
- Reviews. Your star rating and comment, shown publicly on the coach's profile with your first name and initial.
- Payments. When card payments are live, Stripe handles them. We see a record of the payment but never your full card details. Coaches give their payout details to Stripe directly.
Why we use it
- To run your account and your lessons, and to take and pay out payments. This is needed to provide the service you signed up for (contract).
- To send you emails about your account and lessons, such as a new lesson or a reply from your coach (contract).
- To keep Padelent safe, prevent misuse and improve the service (our legitimate interests).
- To keep financial records required by law (legal obligation).
- To send waitlist updates, if you asked for them (consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
We do not sell your details and do not share them with anyone for their own marketing.
Who helps us
These companies process details for us, only to run Padelent:
- Supabase stores our database, accounts, videos and photos.
- Netlify hosts the website and app.
- Resend sends our emails.
- Stripe takes card payments and pays coaches.
Some of these companies may handle details outside the UK, for example in the United States or European Union. When that happens, it is protected by approved safeguards such as the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US data bridge.
Cookies
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The app stores your login on your own device so you stay signed in. Log out to remove it.
How long we keep it
- Account, profile, lessons and videos: while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it within 30 days.
- Waitlist: until you unsubscribe, or for up to 24 months.
- Payment and financial records: 6 years, as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your details, ask us to correct them, delete them, or limit how we use them, object to how we use them, and ask for them in a format you can take elsewhere. Email info@padelent.com and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Age
Padelent is for people aged 18 and over.
Changes
If we change this notice in an important way, we will tell you by email or in the app.
